Meet Brian Lay, DO, MPH
The Heart of My Work
I have been exploring the power of healing touch for over a decade. I am fascinated by touch—
Touch with the intent to listen, to communicate, and to honor the person in front of me.
This fascination is grounded in a deep dedication to the study of the human body, its mechanics, and its innate capacity for balance and healing.
The Return to Ease
My hope is that you leave my suite not only without pain, but with a profound sense of coming home to yourself. In this space, the resolution of physical restriction is simply the gateway to a deeper state of being. True restoration occurs when you feel deeply grounded and "sacred in your skin"—at home in your body and connected to the world around you.
I look forward to meeting you here, and holding the space for your body to find its own way back to ease.
My Path to Healing
Early in my clinical career, I realized that the traditional medical model often lacks the very thing people need most: presence. In a system designed to move quickly from one room to the next, the quiet, vital work of listening to a body’s story is often lost.
I founded Bodywork Journey to bridge that gap—reclaiming the time and spaciousness that true healing requires.
My path has been shaped by more than just clinical study; it has been informed by the profound, quiet wisdom found in:
The Power of Stillness: meditation and mindfulness practices
The Teachings of the world’s great mystics
Time Spent in Nature
Perhaps most importantly, my work is guided by my own experience on the table. I know firsthand the restorative power of a life-changing session—the kind that shifts your perspective and reminds you what it feels like to be whole.
Professional Foundation:
Rooted in Osteopathic Medicine
My clinical foundation was built at Touro University California, where I earned my Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) and a Master of Public Health (MPH). As a Board Certified physician in Family Medicine and Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment (OMT), I bring a high level of clinical precision to the table—ensuring that every session is as anatomically and physiologically sound as it is deeply restorative.
Credentials
Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO): Holistic, whole-person care.
Master of Public Health (MPH): Understanding the broader context of community wellness.
